Need a Home Distillation Handbook?. We've got it! Make your own ethanol!
Hambleton Bard is the leading producer of home alcohol distillation products, turbo yeast, essences, activated carbon and everything else you need for your spirit production.
Turbo yeast is just like any other yeast, only turbo charged via a very special nutrient containing natural vitamins and treatment for best defense and function in a high alcohol environment. You can still get yeast infections, and other yeast problems so you need to take the normal fermentation precautions - good cleaning and sterilisation, and restrict access from the outside (i.e. use an airlock in most cases - except for the very rapid fermentations of the 24hr turbo's). Symptoms of yeast infections, or bacterial infections are slow start of fermentation, strange smells etc. Luckily these are unusualy with turboyeast since it is so powerful, it will in most cases shut out any other organisms.
Activated carbon filter systems used either before or after distillation (or both), will reduce some off flavours - read more about activated carbon filtering here.
